Wedding dresses with sleeves a faux pas?
My mother was married in a beautiful pure white dress with tight lace sleeves (ended with a point over her hand). The dress had a medium length train, a corset style top and a V neck. It was covered in pearl and light blue beads, with soft blue ribbons woven through.
I would like to wear this dress to my wedding, but all the dresses I’ve seen in the stores are pretty plain and sleeveless. Is this dress out of style?
Retro is in right now, and the dress sounds beautiful. A v-neck is so very flattering.
Would you choose a retro veil, too? Hope Mom still has hers, or some pictures so you could duplicate it.
I would wear the dress, and you are so lucky to get it and have it fit. The current style does not matter when you have an heirloom dress.
Oh, and pearl jewelry would be pretty, and very traditional.
And make a big deal over getting to wear your Mom’s dress.
