How do you remove permanent marker and ink pen markings off a tan leather without damaging the leather.?

Have a light tan leather ottoman that my son wanted to write on with a blue permanent marker (sharpie). He also showed us his writing skills on his red and yellow leather chairs in his room, which was done in pen. Have tried a couple of mild soaps, but no success. Looking for something that will remove the marks and not damage the leather.

They don’t call it permanent for nothing. The leather is permanently ruined.Leather is porous and will absorb the ink.Sorry!
