If you want to project your integrity, you should appropriately match your neckties and your shirt. This pairing up is very significant although very few men acknowledge this fact. If your necktie complements your shirt perfectly, you can give out the image of professionalism and people will start noticing you. Your necktie always takes the center stage as no matter how subtle its pattern and design is, it is at the heart of your wardrobe thus, the most eye-catching part. White shirts are staple pieces of wardrobe in any man’s wardrobe. These plain white shirts can be perfectly matched with any type of necktie from brightly-colored ones t patterned neckties. This fact makes it important for every man to have at least one white shirt in their wardrobe, as again, they are staples. White or light solid color or a patterned tie over a bright blue shirt is always a timeless fashion that will never be sold out. Together with your significant solid white (or pale blue) shirts, you also need at least one deep blue or cranberry necktie for something that you can use during the day, and a black silk tie that you can wear for formal evening occasions.
Matching the colors of your tie and shirts requires that you be very specific. A white or light colored shirt is ideal with black suits, while gray, blue or green neckties should match the shirt color appropriately (as they cannot go well with other colors so be wary). If you have a gray suit, and white is the main color, then you can wear a neckties in shades of gray and green, which can also be worn over a yellow shirt. On the other hand, dark blue suits call for neckties that are colored blue, carmine, or orange, and a white or bright shirt can be your options. Properly selecting the tie with your ensemble can present you endless combinations that will perfectly compliment your entire look. If you are fond of brown suits, then you can wear dark brown, gray, green or yellow neckties over shirts that are in white, gray, silver or bright brown colors.
Neckties in yellow and brown hues can go seamlessly perfect with green suits and silver gray, blue, brown shirts. If you love colored neckties, then you wear pick one color from your neckties and use that to match your shirt or suit. Do not worry if you do so, the results are always fantastic.
In matching neckties based from its pattern, one should be able to know that each pattern signifies so that one can wear the right pattern for the image that they want to project. Striped ties symbolize courage and being fearless while plaid represents enthusiasm and grace. Floral patterns are for considerate people while vertical lines represent leisure and passion. Men who wear horizontal patterned neckties are calm. On the other hand, paisley patterns reflects being lively. Dots-polka or pin dots-indicate maturity.

I’m a lady, I wear size 7-9 in pants and a medium shirt.
I think that white suits look really cool and I want to wear one to my senior boards presentation. I don’t want to spend a lot of money on one, but I do want one that looks nice and professional.
