How to get the black/brown marks out of a stainless steel cooking pan?

I burnt some food in my stainless steel pan and now the bottom is black and brown. I got most of the black off but what gets the brown off? Thanks in advance.

Get some Barkeeper’s Friend. It’s a powdered cleanser that is great on metal but won’t scratch like Brillo or SOS pads will. It’s cheap too! Walmart has it as do many grocery stores.

Dampen the pan, sprinkle well, smear around with a sponge with a nylon scrub pad on it and walk away for 10-15 minutes to let the product work. Come back and give it a good scrub. Wash and rinse well; Barkeeper’s does leave a powdery residue if you don’t rinse really well. Repeat if needed.
