How do you clean burnt sugar/milk/corn syrup from the bottom of a saucepan?

I tried to make caramel and ended up burning 2 batches. I threw 1 saucepan away and the other has patches of dark burnt solid areas and crystallized sugar on the sides. I don’t have a dishwasher. I have soaked it overnight, used hot soapy water, stainless steel scrubber and still nothing. Now I have salt and lemon juice on it.

Scrape it with a spatula or butter knife and then putting it in the sink and put a little dish detergent in it along with water and let it soak until the residue becomes loose.
