Powell Craft ladies nightdresses are renowned for being excellent quality and beautifully designed. Many of the styles are based on original Victorian designs and every nightdress is handmade from the finest soft 100 per cent cotton. There is a now a large range of exquisite designs so how do you choose the perfect Powell Craft nightdress for you?
While all of the ladies nightdresses are made from 100 per cotton some of them are slightly heavier cotton than others, and are therefore more suitable for colder seasons. Some nightdresses have long sleeves, some have short sleeves and some are sleeveless with thin straps so again which style you choose will depend on the season and the temperature.
Most of the Powell Craft nightdresses are white cotton but some are more colourful and patterned, such as the ‘Chloe’ blue and red rose nightdress, the ‘Tiffany’ floral print nightdress and the new ‘Spring Floral’ nightdress.
All of the nightdresses come in only one size but some of them have adjustable sizing options, such as side ties or a tie at the back. So if you prefer something more fitted you could choose one of these designs, such as the ‘Alice’ lace edged sleeveless nightdress with ribbon side ties or the ‘Maria’ sleeveless nightdress with strap sleeves and a ribbon tie under the bust.
Some of the Powell Craft nightdresses are more free-fitting and suited to the larger lady, such as the ‘Eliza’ long sleeve, free fitting nightdress, the ‘Prudence’ short sleeved, full length nightdress, or the oversized, floaty ‘Valentina’ nightdress with bat-wing style sleeves.
Some nightdresses are full length and some are mid-length and therefore they may be more suited to the more petite lady, such as the ‘Maria’ or the ‘Camilla’ nightdress with Swiss dot detail and an elasticated back.
Some of the nightdresses are plainer than others, while some have intricate embroidery and ribbon details on them such as the ‘Joanna’ nightdress with pale pink embroidered roses and pink ribbon detail, the ‘Judy’ sleeveless nightdress with lilac flower embroidery and lilac ribbon detail, and the ‘Rachael’ nightdress with seed pearl embroidered detail and button fastening.

I’m embarrassed to wear short sleeves because I’m so skinny?
I don’t want to wear short sleeves or shorts because I don’t wanna listen to people and their dumb*** comments about how skinny I am.
I am very thin (5’5 106 lbs) and people always feel the need to comment on it, and usually not in a complimentary way. What should I do? It’s 90 degrees outside and it’s reached the point where I am actually embrassed to go out in public.
Don’t be so self-conscious as to NOT be comfortable just because you are concerned about what other people think. As long as you’re healthy, you can be happy. If it helps, try looser fitting clothes that are breezy and airy, like flowing skirts that come to the knees or lower, capris, poet-style blouses, linens and gauzes, shift dresses and summer dresses, etc. You don’t need to wear shorts to look good, and feel great in the summer.
