Pleeeeese help me find a book!!!?

When I was a child (I’m 24 now) I bought a book at a trade show. The book came with a cassette tape and was square. The characters were young women all with gemstone name. I’m positive one was Onyx and pretty sure there were a Jade and Sapphire. I think there were 4 or 5 characters in all. The book had full page pictures. I think there was a castle and maybe a cliff in some of the pictures. I also think the girls were battleing someone or something or looking for someone or something. Please help me!!! I remember reading and listening to the story every day, several times a day. It was my favorite story!

I’m not sure if this is what you’re looking for, but it might be. It’s a line of toys made in the ’80s called Golden Girl and the Guardians of the Gemstone, where the characters are guardians of a place called Argonia and their mission is to save the kingdom from barbarians. They were also made into a book under the same name by Billie Randall, written in 1985. There’s a cliff and a castle on the cover page I found, and there are characters named Onyx, Jade, and Sapphire, so it seems to follow your description. You can still find the book on Amazon under the author’s name.
