Is it socially acceptable for a woman to dress like a man?

My wife has always worn business suits to work, but recently she has started wearing a shirt and tie with her suits. They are mens ties,worn just like a man would wear them, tied tight with the top button of her shirt buttoned. She also wears her hair very short, clippered on the sides and back. She definitely looks somewhat mannish, and she does get some very strange reactions to her look. I think she looks very cute, she always wears nice makeup and jewelry, so its not too mannish. Is this socially acceptable?

Unfortunately, in today’s society, anything goes.
But I personally feel like women should dress like women, men should dress like men.
