What is a Women’s Medium jacket 8-10 in a Men’s size?
A bad fit.
This is pretty much an unanswerable question… the measurements for what a manufacturer calls “size 10″ varies greatly (it’s not uncommon to be able to wear size 8,10,12,14 and 16 clothing, depending on who the manufacturer is), changes over time (a 1940s size 10 is about a size 4 today) — and then there are differences between countries.
Men’s tailored jackets, however, are at least sized by chest size in inches, so, barring differences in ease, a guy with a 36″ chest can pretty much buy a jacket made for a 36″ chest and have it close to fit.
Then there is the matter of differing builds between genders. Men tend to have more upper body musculature, heavier arms and wrists, thicker neck and little or no waist compared to women — setting aside the obvious question of bust shaping.
In general, in something with “unisex sizing”, like scrubs, a man who wears a size men’s medium t-shirt will wear size medium scrubs; a woman who wears size women’s medium will wear size small scrubs. But they won’t fit.
