It is a universal fact that not all men are fond of jewellery; this because men oftentimes consider jewellery a hindrance to their day-to-day activities. This is in fact true to men who live active lifestyles like those who work in the construction industry or those who play sports like athletes. When time comes for these men to get married, the challenge now lies on finding the perfect wedding band for them. Since it is tradition for a married man wear his wedding band all the time, the couple must find a ring that he can wear everyday without getting in the way of what he is doing.
To help out with that aspect, here are some questions the couple must ask themselves.
Does the ring get the way of your occupation?
There are certain occupations wherein bulky jewellery can get in the way. Take for example if you are a surgeon, a huge wedding band may make it harder to don on sterile gloves or it increases the risk of you leaving it behind while you operate. On the other hand, if you do laborious work like carpentry and construction or if you work with machine then bulky jewellery can put you at risk for accidents. In cases like this, it is best that you settle for a plain and simple wedding band. The kind of wedding band that will not get tangled with gloves or machinery.
Does your work expose your hands to harsh chemicals or impact force?
Some occupation may require you to expose you hands to either chemicals or impact force. There are also hobbies that merit the use of tougher hands thus causing to exert more effort on your ring as well. In cases like this, you need to make sure that the wedding band that you are about to buy can withstand such harsh treatment. In this case, it is best to choose a band that is made from durable metal. Pure gold is out of the question because it is soft and it can bend easily making it not ideal.
Do you intend to wear your ring everyday regardless of what you are doing?
If the answer to this question is yes then it is obvious that you will need a ring that does not get in the way while you work with your hands. You will also need a ring that is durable enough to withstand all the activity that you are doing. Therefore, whether you do hard labour or you do white collared jobs it is essential that you and your partner select a wedding that you can feel comfortable wearing without worrying about it denting or slipping.

Engagement ring and wedding band that fit together?
I’ve seen engagement/wedding ring sets that fit together to make one ring, but I can’t find it anymore. Has anyone else seen this? If so, could you provide a link? Thanks so much!
At Kay Jewelers or J. B. Robinson Jewelers, such bridal sets are called “wrap” or “enhancer” rings. If you go to any Kay or JBR, just ask and they’ll show you what you’re looking for.
If you aren’t a fan of Kay Jewelers, I’m sure most other jewelry stores offer the same merchandise as well, as it’s becoming a popular style.
