I recently bought a pure 925 stirling silver Dolan-Bullock pocket watch from a person on craigslist. I recently realized that, when you pull out the crown to adjust the time, it doesn’t. Rather it just turns without doing anything, it feels like the mechanism that turns the time is loose because when I turn the same dial on another, older and cheaper pocket watch it turns less easily than this one does. Im sure that this can be fixed but from what I can tell everything on the outside is perfectly fine, no broken crown or such. Im probably going to get it fixed soon but I would like to know what reasons it would not be working are, and why it seems loose when I turn the knob that adjusts the time.
Recently figured out its one of those ones you have to pull on the crown TWICE to change the time, completely forgot about those.
It sounds like maybe you fixed this but if its still not working, the pull tab is not locking in with the gear to change the time. A watch repair shop should be able to easily fix this for you for a few dollars.
