How can I get a job doing security for a big concert tour?

I have been working at a major detroit arena for years and now that I have graduated from college I am looking to get a job doing security work for concert tours. Does anyone know of any tour companies who are looking for workers or any place I could send a resume to?

WHO you know always beats WHAT you know in this industry. If you’ve built up a contact base from working at the arena, make use of it. Start spreading the word that you’re looking to get into touring – you never know when someone might just need a new recruit!

I could give you a list of security companies that I know of but they only really cover UK/ European tours and probably won’t be of much use to you (I am UK based).

How about reaching out to the security company of the next band/ artist that reaches your venue? Use your initiative, charm, passion and make yourself known (in a good way) otherwise you won’t get very far…
