and that he was wearing slacks and a polo shirt and to dress business casual.. I’m female and am interviewing for an entry level position at a technology startup.
I’m tossed between khaki’s and a cotton long sleeved shirt and suit pants and a knit shirt.
I’m located in Southern California, if that makes a difference..coastally speaking
I rarely concede to dressing down, but this may also be about your ability to follow instructions. The pants and cotton shirt is a good idea. At the introduction thank him for the advice on clothes and tell him you don’t roll your sleeves up like Barack Obama, but you are ready to go to work. This is definitely not a posturing, three tiered, psychological testing situation. Do not hesitate to ask about a work trial for the remainder of the day, while he arranges the second interview.
