Black Stainless

Not sure whether to do black appliances or stainless appliances?

My counter tops are black granite, cabinets a honey oak, tan floors, backsplash is tile with different colors of tan with a pewter diamond here and there. Walls are also tan.

I was originally going to get stainless appliances. Or the cleansteel that supposedly doesn’t get fingerprints. I also really like the black appliances a lot. Do you think thats to much black? The stove and refigerator are next to each other. I’m very torn on what to do but I need to do something real soon – my refrigerator crapped out so I’m using the one in my cellar – and thats a pain in the butt!

I have seen kitchens done all in Black. Counter tops and appliances, and I though it was beautiful. I think it looks very sleek and sophticated. It would depend on the counter tops, are they a true black or do they have specks of other colors?
If true black then the appliances would compliment them.
If you do the black appliances, then you will be working with two colors, tan and black. I would be interested to know what your plans are for window treatment. Blinds inside of glass?
shutters? Hopefully nothing frilly, to break up the sleek look.
This is not a starter home is it. It’s a “I hope we live here a long time” home.
I once did a window with a stained glass treatment. Then I bought goblets in a color to go with the stained glass, and hung them from the bottom of one of the cabinets. It was especially pretty in the morning, when the sun was shining through the window. Kitchens should be attractive, makes it fun to drink your morning coffee, if you are sitting in a kitchen like yours will be.
