What color furniture for a room with black, gold, and lavender?
I’m redoing my room this summer and my theme is lavender (on the walls) with black and gold accents. I got a solid black comforter with gold and lavender accent pillows. Now I’m facing a dilema over furniture color. I want a metal victorian like head board on the bed (with no foot board) but I don’t want an overpowering amount of black.
That color combination sounds so pretty – I love lavender, and I think using black instead of white will help keep it from looking too ‘sweet’ but still girly 
I like the idea of a metal headboard, I would just be careful that if you get one that’s too silver it might clash with the gold. Maybe a bronze finish or black metal would work well? I think if you work with a unique, open design like this one http://www.thefurnituredomain.com/1474-490.html the black wouldn’t be overwhelming as it might be in a ‘heavier’ piece. It could also look really great if you added some patterned pieces to the room to break up the black a bit while still matching.
